Why Atlasway

We research. We don't sell.

Most platforms covering residency and global mobility have something to sell you: consulting packages, visa services, or affiliate arrangements. We don't.

Atlasway is the research layer that comes before all of that. We cover your international residency options, business formation paths, and visa routes across 50+ jurisdictions, help you understand which fit your situation, and flag the bad fits before they cost you thousands.

When you're ready to move forward, we connect you with vetted specialists. Until then, everything here is free.

About international residency and global mobility

What is a golden visa?
A golden visa is a residency-by-investment program that grants long-term residency or a path to citizenship in exchange for a qualifying investment, typically in real estate, government funds, or job creation. Several European countries offer them, including Portugal and Greece. Each program has different investment thresholds, processing timelines, and physical presence requirements. Not all golden visas are equivalent.
How do I get second residency?
Second residency is typically obtained through one of four routes: investment programs (golden visas, citizenship by investment), income-based visas (Portugal D7, Spain's non-lucrative visa), employment or business-based residency, or family reunification. The right path depends on your nationality, income structure, investment budget, and how much time you're willing to spend in the country.
What is citizenship by investment?
Citizenship by investment (CBI) is a program offered by certain countries — primarily Caribbean nations and a few European jurisdictions — that grants full citizenship in exchange for a qualifying investment, typically starting at $100,000 and up. Unlike golden visas, CBI usually provides a passport, not just residency. Programs vary significantly in quality, processing time, passport strength, and due diligence requirements.
Can I set up a company in Dubai as a foreigner?
Yes. Dubai allows 100% foreign ownership in most free zones and, since 2021, across many mainland business categories as well. The process typically takes two to four weeks, costs range from $5,000 to $15,000 depending on the free zone and license type, and visa sponsorship for yourself and dependents can be included. The right structure depends on your business activity, whether you want UAE residency, and whether you need to operate locally or just hold a regional presence.
Is this information current?
We update guides when major program changes occur — investment threshold changes, new requirements, program suspensions. Time-sensitive information is flagged with the date it was verified. That said, immigration rules change frequently, and we always recommend verifying final details with a licensed advisor before taking action. Our role is to help you understand your options clearly; the execution belongs to qualified specialists.
